Planning Center Setlist Auto Update Is Back, and Faster

Auto Update for Planning Center setlists has been rebuilt: changes sync in 1–2 minutes, setlists 90 days out stay current, and here's how to turn it on.

Written by Trevor

Planning Center Auto Update for service types and setlists has been turned off for maintenance for the past several months. We used that time to rebuild the integration from the ground up. It's fully working again, and it's faster and reaches further ahead than before.

What's changed

  • Sync speed: Before, changes synced once every 24 hours, grouped together. Now, changes made to a plan in Planning Center sync to the linked MultiTracks.com setlist within 1–2 minutes.

  • How far ahead: Before, only setlists within the next 2 weeks stayed up to date. Now, setlists within the next 90 days stay up to date.

  • Team members: Before, people were added to and removed from setlists once a day. Now, team changes in Planning Center reach the MultiTracks.com setlist within 1–2 minutes.

Setlists dated more than 90 days out won't be imported or updated automatically. You can still import or update them by hand.

Is Auto Update on for my account?

  • New connections (on or after September 1, 2026): Auto Update is on by default for every service type and setlist you import. You can turn it off for any service type or setlist.

  • Existing connections (before September 1, 2026): Auto Update is off by default. Turn it on for each service type and setlist you want to keep in sync.

Note: Changing a service type's setting doesn't change setlists you've already imported. Update each of those setlists individually.

Before you turn it on

Sync only goes one way: from Planning Center to MultiTracks.com. When Auto Update runs, the Planning Center plan overwrites the MultiTracks.com setlist.

If you've edited setlists on MultiTracks.com while Auto Update was off (keys, song order, or songs), make the same changes in the Planning Center plan first. Otherwise they'll be overwritten.

  1. Make sure your MultiTracks.com account is connected to Planning Center. If you haven't relinked since June 22, 2026, see Planning Center and ProPresenter Connection Updates.

  2. Link your songs on the Song Link page. Unlinked songs can sync incorrectly.

How to get started

Step 1: Turn on Auto Update for one setlist.
Pick an upcoming setlist within the next 90 days and turn on Auto Update in its setlist details on MultiTracks.com. More in our Auto Update article.

Step 2: Turn on Auto Update for a whole service type.
Once you're comfortable with how it works, turn it on for an entire service type from your Service Types page.
