Connecting Your AI Tools to MultiTracks.com

Supercharge your AI tools with the new MultiTracks.com MCP. Learn how the MultiTracks.com MCP works, what it enables, and how to get connected.

Getting Started

What is MultiTracks MCP?

MultiTracks.com MCP is a bridge that enables AI tools you already use (like Claude or ChatGPT) to talk directly to your MultiTracks account. Instead of switching between your AI and the MultiTracks app, you can describe what you need in plain language and your AI handles it through your library, setlists, and team data.

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that makes it possible for AI assistants to securely connect with external apps and services. MultiTracks.com didn't build an AI; we built a connection that works with the AI you already choose to use.

Which AI tools does it work with?

Any AI app that supports MCP, including Claude and ChatGPT*. If your AI app has an "MCP" or "Custom Connections" setting, it should work. MCP support is changing rapidly, so check your AI app's settings or release notes if you're not sure.

Before Getting Started

In order to use the MultiTracks.com MCP, an active MultiTracks One or Live Bundle subscription is required.

MCP is included for all MultiTracks One and Live Bundle customers at no extra charge. Unsure of what you have, you can check bundle options here:

How To Connect from Claude

  1. Open your AI app and go to Settings → MCP or Custom Connections.

  2. Give your custom connection any name, like "MultiTracks MCP" (or whatever you want shown in the AI tool connections interface)

  3. Paste the server URL: https://mcp.multitracks.com/mcp

  4. Input the OAuth Client ID: mcp-claude-desktop

  5. Authenticate with your MultiTracks account when prompted.

Once connected, the AI tool can start working with your MultiTracks data.
For more detailed setup steps for Claude, see the detailed Claude Setup Guide.

Connecting from ChatGPT

ChatGPT calls their connectors "apps." Custom app setup in ChatGPT is a little more involved, so we've put together a detailed guide here.

Configuring MCP Settings

Like other MCP connectors or apps, you can configure the level of access the AI tool has to the tools in the MCP connector. Generally there are options like "Always Allow," "Needs Approval" or "Blocked." These settings ensure the MCP is only reading or writing data you approve for it to access.

What does it enable?

Once connected, you can describe what you need in plain language and your AI will work through your MultiTracks account to help. Some examples of what's possible:

  • Ask your AI to suggest songs from your library based on theme, key, or feel

  • Have it help build or organize a setlist for an upcoming service

  • Look up arrangements or compare options without leaving your AI tool

  • Push a completed setlist to Planning Center

For a detailed list of all available tools, see:
MultiTracks MCP Tools Catalog Reference

Note: The specific capabilities available will grow over time as MCP support expands across both AI platforms and the MultiTracks server. Because MCP is an open standard, improvements often become available automatically as your AI app adds new capabilities.

Privacy & Security

Data Access:
Your AI can access what you've granted through the connector settings in your AI tool. Which could include your library, setlists, arrangements, and team data. It cannot access payment information, account credentials, or data outside your organization.

When you ask your AI tool a question, relevant data from your MultiTracks account is passed to your AI provider to formulate the response based on the permissions you set in the AI Connector settings. This is governed by your AI provider's privacy policy.

The MultiTracks.com MCP has no access to billing, payment, or subscription settings.

Troubleshooting

I'm getting an authentication error. Double-check that you're using the correct server URL (https://mcp.multitracks.com/mcp) and that you're signing in with the right MultiTracks credentials. Try disconnecting and reconnecting if the issue persists.

My AI is connected but giving generic answers, not using my library. Try being more specific — for example, "Search my MultiTracks library for songs in G major under 75 BPM." Some AI apps need an explicit prompt to route the request through MCP rather than answering from general knowledge.

Does it work on mobile? MCP support depends on the AI app you're using. Desktop AI apps currently have the most complete MCP support. Check your specific AI app for mobile availability.

What if I connected to the wrong organization by mistake?

The MultiTracks MCP connection only supports a single organization connection. If you need to change the organization your AI tool is connected to, you'll need to disconnect the MCP fully, and reconnect to the new desired organization.

Note: this is best done in a desktop browser instance of your AI tool. Using the Desktop app will likely revert to the previously-linked organization.

Example Steps for reconnecting to a different MultiTracks.com organization:

  1. Open a private/incognito browser window with no session cookies or cache.

  2. Sign into your Ai tool and find the MCP/Connector/App settings.

  3. Find the MultiTracks MCP and disconnect it.

  4. Reconnect the MCP and follow the login steps.

  5. Select the proper organization you want to connect to.

Disconnecting the MCP

To disconnect the MCP from your AI tool, find the MCP or connector settings in your AI tool, and remove the connection.
