Overview

Each user in a MultiTracks.com organization has a limited number of devices in which they can sign in to ChartBuilder or Playback. This allows an individual to be logged into multiple devices at a time, so they don't need to be constantly re-authenticating their personal devices. For example, a user needing to utilize ChartBuilder on their iPad, and their android phone on a regular basis.

Limits:

  • ChartBuilder has a two-device limit for each user.

  • Playback has a two-device limit for each user*
*a user with a Playback Premium seat is increased to three-device limit. This is so that a user could theoretically access on all three of their devices (an iPhone, iPad, and MacOS device) without having to manage their devices frequently).

This device limit cannot be increased* for a user, but additional users can be granted access to ChartBuilder or Playback by granting them seats and setlist access.

*except for the Playback Premium situation that increases the device limit by one.

Adding Playback and ChartBuilder Devices

To add a Playback device or ChartBuilder device to a user's device list, first ensure you have an "Available device" listed on the "ChartBuilder Devices" or "Playback Devices" section of your user-account page.

After confirming there is an "unused device," simply login to ChartBuilder or Playback with the user's credentials to add the device to the list.

Removing Playback and ChartBuilder Devices

To remove a Playback or ChartBuilder device, navigate to the appropriate "Devices" page under your username account page, and select the "X" next to the device you need removed. Removing a device will log that signed-in user out of the device, and then free up an open device for the user to login to.

Other helpful information

Beta versions of the apps

Beta versions of the ChartBuilder and Playback app are typically registered as separate devices, even though it's the same device. So the device limit may be reached quicker if utilizing the Testflight versions of the app in addition to the App Store versions.
Interested in joining beta? Sign up here for Playback, and here for ChartBuilder.

Adding Devices/Seats to expand app access

  • To expand ChartBuilder access to more devices, or more people, additional users would need to be added from the People Page on MultiTracks.com, and granted the appropriate ChartBuilder or RehearsalMix seats, depending on which content they're trying to access in the ChartBuilder app*.

  • To expand Playback access to more devices, either manage the existing devices and remove an existing one from the user, or add additional users, and grant them access to Playback depending on what they need access to. (Playback Team Sharing, Playback Rentals, Playback Premium, etc). Learn More here.

*Additional people added to an organization would either need the appropriate role to see all setlists, or need to be added to setlists in order to see and collaborate on them. Learn more:
