Can I use Multitracks to make a Cover Video?

In this article we explain the licensing around Multitracks' products.

MultiTracks backing tracks products (Accompaniment tracks, CustomMixes, AppTracks, and Multitracks) include the licenses to be used as backing tracks in any live or live-streamed worship service. It is not currently possible to license original artist audio content for us in cover songs or videos; since that would fall under a commercial use of the product. Refer to the MultiTracks.com terms and conditions for additional information.

Update: MultiTracks.com now offers Sync Licensing for certain video productions. See below for details on what is and isn't covered.

What Sync Licensing Covers

With a sync license purchased through MultiTracks.com, you can legally use our catalog music synchronized with visual media for projects such as:

  • Sermon bumper videos

  • Pre-service or post-service content

  • Church event recap videos

  • Promotional videos for events, conferences, or camps

  • General social media content for your church or organization

Sync licensing is purchased per project, and availability varies by song depending on label permissions. Visit sync.multitracks.com or the Sync License tab on any song page to get started.

What Sync Licensing Does NOT Cover

Sync licensing through MultiTracks.com does not cover the following:

  • Vocal cover videos — videos where someone is performing or covering a song (e.g., a YouTube cover song video, a tribute performance). Licenses for this type of content must be obtained directly from the artist or label.

  • Instrumental cover videos — same as above; performing or covering a song for a recording or video requires a separate license not available through MultiTracks.com.

  • Large-scale commercial use — TV commercials, national advertising campaigns, or similar commercial productions are handled on a case-by-case basis and are not available for direct purchase. Contact our team if you have a commercial use inquiry.

For licenses related to vocal or instrumental cover videos, you'll need to seek permission from the artist or label directly. For further information, you can also review our Terms of Use.
