Before getting started:

Note: in order to add content into Playback, you first need to either purchase, or have access to that content through subscriptions via MultiTracks.com. Content in Playback can be accessed in a few main ways:

  • Playback Rentals (rent songs each week with a Playback Rentals subscription)

  • Purchase track products to license indefinitely in the Playback app
📖 Which Track Product is Right for me?

  • Load Click and Guides for any song with a Cloud Pro subscription.

Adding Songs in Playback

Once you have the content access, you're ready to search and load that content into Playback!

Create or Open A Setlist

Songs in Playback are collected into MultiTracks.com "Setlists." Setlists are your workspace in which to load and host songs and content. It's recommend to create a unique setlist for each performance or service you're using content for. This not only ensures accurate usage reporting to the original artists, but also keeps your account and content organized!

To create or open a setlist, tap the "Create" setlist option in the first song-tile position on the far left side of the Playback interface, or tap the setlist menu in the top-right corner of the app.

Searching for Content in Playback

With a setlist open or created, simply click the first song empty song tile that says "Add Song." This will pull up the "Add A Song" menu, which will have lots of menu options, depending on the content you have.

  1. Search (main)
Using this option is the quickest way to search the entire MultiTracks.com database of songs. This includes songs both in your library, and songs not in your library. It's great for quickly searching and adding.

  2. All Songs
Using this option is very similar to the main top search, but with some additional custom filters and menus. It surfaces additional menus to navigate and narrow down songs from the entire catalog of MultiTracks.com songs. This menu is where you can find "Top Songs," Top Artists,

    1. Search (All Songs)

    2. New Releases

    3. Top Songs

    4. Top Artists

    5. Genres

    6. Themes

  3. Library
The Library menu option in the Add a Song menu is great for when needing to only search for songs you've done in the past, or songs you have added to your MultiTracks.com library.

  4. MT Complete
The Mt Complete menu option in the Add a Song menu will display all of the MT Complete songs in the MultiTracks.com catalog. These are unique songs that are multi-genre. Learn more about MT Complete here.

  5. Click & Pad
Use this menu option to quickly add a click track, with a custom pad sound. The pad can be any of the free MultiTracks.com pads, or any purchased ambient pad from the MultiTracks.com website. This is typically the best way to add ambient pads into the Playback app. This option is available for both Intro (free) and Premium Playback users.

  6. Ambient Pads
Use this menu option to add a 10-minute ambient pad as a song tile in Playback. This is a 10-minute non-looping ambient pad, that can be added as an individual song tile.

  7. Soundbeds
Use the "Soundbeds" menu in the Add a Song menu to find all of your purchased soundbeds, and load them into the Playback app. This will load the soundbed into the Playback app as an individual song tile.

Other Search tips and options:

  • Short audio demo of every song can be accessed by clicking on the album artwork before adding the song from the Add a Song menu. First tap on the song name or artwork, and then select the play button on the album artwork to listen to the audio demo.

  • Songs can be filtered by Song Key, Tempo Range, and Language in certain contextual menus including in the Genres, Artists, and Themes in the "All Songs" search menu. First select "All Songs" and then a specific Genre, Theme, or artist. Finally use the filters in the menu to filter songs by a particular Song Key, a Tempo Range (Slow, Medium, Medium-Fast, Fast), or Language.

Adding Songs into Playback

Once you've found the song, and selected it, you'll be met with the song's edit menu before adding. This menu is where all of the details of that particular song, can be determined for that particular instance in the setlist. You'll be surfaced with options to load in purchased content for the song, or rental content for the song, as well as a plethora of other options for the song. When you're happy with the settings for your song, click the final blue "Add" or "Rent" button in the top-right corner of the menu to start loading the song into Playback.

Adding additional songs and saving the setlist

Repeat the above steps to add additional songs into the setlist, and then be sure to save the setlist to the cloud by using the setlist menu in the top-right. Setlists are always saved locally in real time, but saving to the cloud will ensure your setlist is saved and backed up in the MultiTracks cloud for future recall or edits.
