What is MT Complete?

MT Complete is a new innovative approach to running backing tracks. One song map and structure, but with backing tracks in four different genres, that can be mixed and matched to create your own arrangement of tracks. It's a new tool for creating your own sound, when crafting your arrangements and backing tracks.

Powered by Playback & Playback Rentals

MT Complete is powered by the Playback Rentals subscription. Use rentals to rent a genre of a MT complete song, or use multiple rentals to unlock multiple genres, and use them in the same song tile in the Playback app.

The Difference

An artist original multitrack from MultiTracks.com is a single song, and a single genre, that has it's own unique song structure and song tile in the Playback.
An MT Complete multitrack is a single song, with multiple genre options. Each genre has the same exact strong structure, and can either be compiled into a single song tile in your Playback setlist, or used as individual songs in a setlist.

Getting Started

MT Complete songs are available through the Playback Rentals subscription. They cannot currently be purchased, or rented individually outside of a Playback Rentals subscription, and are a Playback-only product. Therefore, a Playback Rentals subscription is required to access MT Complete.

A single genre requires a single Playback Rental. Additional genres for the same song would require additional Playback rentals. When renting 3 of the genres for a single MT Complete song, the fourth genre is available for free, without requiring a fourth rental.

You can choose to get started on the website, or directly in the Playback app. The website is a great place to browse the catalog, and demo the songs and tracks to make sure it's a great fit for your use case.

Browsing and Adding Songs

All MT Complete songs can be viewed using the In-App or Website filters, or directly here: multitracks.com/mtcomplete/. See below the different experience for browsing and adding MT Complete songs to your setlists.

Website / Browser Experience

Browsing Songs:

To get started with MT Complete on the website, navigate to one of the available MT Complete songs in the MT Complete catalogue: MT Complete Song Catalog.

Adding to setlists and library

You can then add the song to your library or setlist directly from the song's page.

Or, alternatively, you can use the "MT Complete" filter when using the website search, or when searching songs to add to a setlist.

Playback In-App Experience

Browsing Songs:

To get started with MT Complete songs inside of Playback, simply open your setlist/ song map edit mode, and when adding a song, select the new "MT Complete" list:

Then select any or all of the genres you want to load into Playback. Each genre will require a Playback Rental. When renting three genres for a single MT Complete song, the fourth genre will be available for free. (Unlocking all four genres only requires three Playback Rentals)

Using MT Complete Songs in Playback

Loading an MT Complete song into the Playback app introduces a slightly different experience compared to a traditional multitrack song. An MT complete song can have multiple genres (up to all four) loaded in the single song tile, and therefore, will have a few differences in the Tracks and Buses layers in Playback.

Playback Tracks Layer

When a MT Complete song is loaded into a Playback setlist, you'll see all the stems for all genres you have unlocked with a rental on the "Tracks" layer. Instead of seeing all tracks by default here, the tracks are organized into track folders, labelled by each genre. In this screenshot, we're looking at all an MT complete song with all four genres loaded in, with all of the tracks. The tracks for each genre are currently hidden in the subfolders for each genre.

Clicking to the right of each genre (small arrow to the right of each genre's fader) will expand all of the tracks for that genre. Tapping the arrow again to the right of the fader will collapse the tracks within that genre.

Playback Buses Layer

The buses layer has the expandable buses, and each bus will show every track from every genre loaded in, that's routed to that particular bus. Each track will be notated with a small icon with a letter that corresponds to the genre that track is from. Making it more simple to understand which tracks are from which genre in the buses layer. The following letters will correspond to each genre:

  • C = Contemporary Genre Track

  • G = Gospel Genre Track

  • O = Orchestral Genre Track

  • A = Acoustic Genre Track

Note: Changing the routing for a particular track in one genre will change the track routing for that same track name across all genres. For example, if the Contemporary genre "Perc" track is re-routed from the "Perc" bus over to the "Aux" bus, the "Perc" from all other genres will follow and be routed to that "aux" bus.

To learn more about the Buses layer and expandable buses, see: 📖How to | Track and bus Routing

Other MT Complete Features

Unlike typical multitrack songs in Playback, MT Complete songs include a lead vocal; and include one for every genre. The lead vocal can be routed to a different bus, but is routed to the "vocals" bus by default.

Note:

  • Changing the "Lead Vocal" (LV) routing for one genre will change the lead vocal for all genres.

  • Some genres may have multiple Lead vocals, denoted as LV1, LV2, and so on. Those additional lead vocals in a specific genre are considered separate tracks and can be routed to separate buses.

The rest of the Playback experience is similar to that of other MultiTracks.com catalog or cloud songs. The timeline is the same for all genres, and editing it for one genre will edit it for all genres. Automations can be used to switch between genres or mix and match tracks from all genres to create seemingly endless possible arrangements.

MT Complete Songs in ChartBuilder & RehearsalMix

NOTICE: MT Complete songs support for the ChartBuilder app are currently only be available in ChartBuilder beta version 4.0.6. For access, please complete our ChartBuilder Beta Form to be added to the beta group!

The charts and RehearsalMix files for a MultiTracks Complete are both song and genre specific. All of the charts and RehearsalMix files for every genre, will be under the umbrella of the MT complete song. For example, if you're renting the Gospel version of "That's My King" from the website or in Playback, and only have that selected, ChartBuilder and RehearsalMix will default to only showing the RehearsalMix files and charts for that specific genre of that MT Complete song in the setlist.

This default setting can still be changed by admins or team members on their specific devices.

Tip: it may be helpful to communicate with your team members which genre to listen to when practicing on their own, or ensure they're practicing in the context of the setlist they're planned for, so they're practicing the genre you're expecting them to.

Default ChartBuilder chart and RehearsalMix behavior

There is an order of precedence when it comes to the genres of a MT Complete song. The order of those genres from top to bottom is:

  • Contemporary

  • Gospel

  • Orchestral

  • Acoustic

When renting or selecting multiple genres in the context of a setlist, ChartBuilder will load the highest genre in the order. For example, if an admin schedules an MT Complete song from the website, and rents the Contemporary version, with the Acoustic version also, the charts and RehearsalMix files in ChartBuilder will default to the highest genre in the list; Contemporary.

Changing the genre in ChartBuilder or RehearsalMix on the website

The genre of the song can be changed in ChartBuilder by ChartBuilder user, including team members, from the song's chart preferences menu. Simply click the key of the song to open up the chart settings menu, and then select the genre at the top with the new genre selector.

If the genre selector is not present, ensure the ChartBuilder app is up to date, and the current selected chart is an MT Complete song.

RehearsalMix on the website:

RehearsalMix on the website is very similar, where the genres that are rented or selected for the MT Complete songs will be available, and the other genres will not be available. The genre's are selected or edited by Admins or Team Leaders from the website when adding or editing songs in a setlist:
