How to input Time Signature Changes into Cloud Songs on MultiTracks.com

If a cloud song has time signature changes, these will need to be put into the cloud song's metadata using the Time Changes tab of the Cloud Song in the Library on MultiTracks.com.

Time Signature changes can only be made on the website on MultiTracks.com.

Inputting Time Signature Changes

  • To add a time signature change in Playback, simply navigate to the "Tracks > "Time Changes" tab on the cloud song's library page.

  • Next, select the "Add Signature" button, select the time signature, and then input the timecode for the start of the measure where the time signature changes.

NOTE: Time signature changes must always have accurate timecode data to the millisecond, so that the time signature change falls on the downbeat of a measure.

What if I don't have the timecode data for the time signature change?

Two ways to get the time signature change data:

  1. Get the data from a DAW or free software.
If the content was exported from a DAW software such as Ableton, Logic Pro, Audacity, etc. simply take note of the measure you're needing changed, and grab the timecode from the DAW's information panels.
You can also drag and drop one of the cloud song tracks into a DAW, (ensuring the tempo is set correctly and there aren't any tempo changes), and can then grab the timecode from the DAW's information panel when the playhead is at the point in which you need to add the time signature change.

    Or alternatively as a workaround:

  2. Grab the data from the Playback app's song sections (workaround)

    1. If you don't have access to a DAW, simply load the song into Playback, and add a SONG SECTION using the "Cloud Song Sections" edit mode, to the downbeat where the time signature changes. (This can be deleted later so can be any song section).

    2. Select "Done" in the top right and save the cloud song sections to the cloud.

    3. In another browser tab, open up the same cloud song and navigate to the "Tracks" > "Song Sections" tab, and find and copy the timecode information for the song section you added at the desired location.

    4. Paste the timecode information into the new Time Signature change on the time signature changes tab.

    5. Then head back to Playback and delete the song section if you need back in the "Cloud Song Sections" edit mode, and repeat the steps for any other time signature changes in the cloud song.
