Thank you for purchasing Studio Drum Samples.

A drum sample library created from a studio recording session with one of Hillsong's main drummers at Sydney's Studios 301. This is the same studio Hillsong United and Hillsong Worship have recorded countless albums at. They were meticulously mixed and mastered by one of Hillsong’s great mix/mastering engineers Philip Blackbourn.

The pack includes the following formats:

WAV – 48kHz/24bit

EXS24 – Presets for Logic 9 and above and MainStage 2 and above.

KONTAKT - Presets for Kontakt 5 and above.

TRIGGER – Presets for Slate Digital Trigger 2 and above.

ROLAND - Presets for TM-6PRO, TD-17, and TD-50.

Please note that you can load these samples into a Roland SPD-SX, all you will have to do is convert to 16bit/44.1kHz before uploading into your drum pad.

Below is a list of the drum kit hardware used for these sample recordings:

Drum Kit: C&C Drum Co.

Shells: Walnut/Poplar/Walnut 13", 16", 22"

Snare: Ludwig Black Beauty 6.5x14'

Skins: Evans EQ3 batter, G12 Coated, HD Dry

Cymbals: Heartbeat Percussion

Hi Hats: 16" Raw Crashes

Crashes: 22" & 24" Custom Light Rides

Ride: 24" Classic Light Ride

Check out the official walkthrough video here:

I hope you enjoy using these samples as much as we enjoyed making them!

Installation for MainStage

Move the ‘EXS24’ folder or the entire ‘Studio Drum Samples’ folder to your ‘Sampler Instruments’ folder:

  • Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Logic/Sampler Instruments

Alternative locations:

  • Macintosh HD/User/Music/Logic/Sampler Instruments

  • Macintosh HD/User/Music/Audio Music Apps/Sampler Instruments

Then open Logic or Mainstage and open the EXS24 sampler plugin and select the ‘Refresh Menu’ option in the dropdown menu as seen below:

The SDS presets will then show up as seen below:

Installation for Kontakt

Simply copy the folder ‘Studio Drum Samples’ and it’s contents to any location on your hard drive. Then open Kontakt 5 and find the folder you just copied under the ‘Files’ tab in the top left hand corner. Locate the ‘Kontakt’ folder and open the ‘nki’ files and you’re ready to go!

If Kontakt brings up a ‘Samples Missing’ pop-up window simply click on the ‘Search Spotlight’ button to locate samples or the ‘Browse for folder’ button and choose the ‘Samples’ folder that contains these samples in the location you installed them.

NOTE: This product will not work inside the Free Kontakt Player version. Only Kontakt 5 or above.

INSTALLATION FOR TRIGGER

Please refer to the Slate Digital Trigger Manual for details on how to use third-party presets and samples.

Installation for Roland Sound Module

1. Insert an SD Card into the Roland sound module and use the format SD Card function in the module. (See the instrument manual for the process for your instrument)

2. Double click/Unzip the ‘Roland.zip’ file which will create a folder called ’Roland’ with subdirectories for each compatible instrument

3. Copy this entire ‘Roland’ folder to the SD Card

Single Kit Loading

Insert the SD Card into the Roland sound module and use the ‘1 KIT Load’ function of the module to import a kit patch with its associated samples into the user sample list in the Roland sound module. Repeat for each kit you want to import. There are 10.

Tip: Choose blank/user slots to load the kits into to retain your factory preset patches.

TD-17 notes:

Due to memory limitations, it is not possible to load all 10 kits into the TD-17.

You may want to load 3 or 4, try them then when ready, save this module state using ‘Backup save’ then perform a factory reset ticking ‘with user samples’ so that the module is cleared and ready for the next kits. You can then save the next module state as ‘Backup2’ etc

Backup Loading (TM-6PRO & TD-50 only)

VERY IMPORTANT: This operation will erase all existing sound module patches and replace them with custom kits and samples so be sure to backup any existing user kits first. See the instrument manuals for the process.

Use the ‘backup load’ function in the module load all kits at once.

These will load into slots 80-90 in the TM-6PRO and slots 1-10 in the TD-50. For the TD-50, factory kits are simply relocated and can be user re-loaded at any time using the ‘Load 1kit’ from preset memory function. (see the TD-50 manual for details)
