Thank you for purchasing Foundations Pt. 1.

Installation

  • Download HX Edit & Line 6 Updater from line6.com, connect your Helix / HX unit via USB & run to ensure minimum requirement of firmware v2.80.1

  • With your Helix / HX unit still connected to HX Edit simply drag a preset from this bundle to your desired preset location

Overview

Each preset has two snapshots, designed for different bass output levels (typically but not limited to active & passive basses)

Snapshot one is normal
Snapshot two contains a 10dB pad

Drive 1 - A gentle ‘always on’ drive, designed to break up a little at high levels
Drive 2 - Another ‘always on’ drive, based on the classic Tube Screamer, designed to give a nice warm crunch
Drive 3 - A larger drive, designed to bring energy & punch

Comp. 1 - A gentle compressor designed to catch the peaks & even out the dynamics a little
Comp. 2 - A classic New York style compressor, a quick & hard compressor running in parallel with the un-affected clean

EQ 1 - A simple low boost, to help ‘feel’ the bass
EQ 2 - A mid scoop, great for slap
EQ 3 - A mid boost to give the natural punch of your bass a little more power

Octave 1 - A sub-octave with some EQ to help tracking & compression to smooth it, running in parallel with the un-affected clean
Octave 2 - A grittier sub-octave with some EQ to help tracking & compression to smooth it, running in parallel with Drive 2
Octave 3 - A saw wave synth octave with some compression to smooth it, running in parallel with the un-affected clean

Patches created exclusively for Sounds By Multitracks by Matt Donald.
